Students practice all-position welding on carbon steel using various processes, such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW) with electrodes commonly used in industry. The industrial cutting operations include plasma arc cutting and gouging, carbon arc gouging, oxy-fuel cutting and gouging, and saw cutting. The course places special emphasis on cutting safety and on techniques specific to industrial settings, including the removal of nuts from bolts by gouging.
