Student Success

The average retention rate for new students entering the Liberal Arts associate degree program is 59%. “Retention” here means that students who entered the program in a fall semester have remained enrolled at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø the following fall.
Ìý
The graduation rate for students in the Liberal Arts associate degree program is 27% within three years. ÌýBoth full-time and part-time students are included in this percentage. Ìý(Because 91³Ô¹ÏÍø is a two-year school, the standard federal reporting window for graduation rates is three years, or 150% of the time it would take for a full-time student to complete a two-year Associate Degree.)
Ìý
Students in the Liberal Arts program start at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø often to lay a foundation for higher education and then transfer out. Fully 38% of Liberal Arts students transfer to another college or university, 28% to four-year institutions, and 10% to other two-year colleges. These students transfer their 91³Ô¹ÏÍø credits to their destination college, credits that give them advanced standing in their new program of study. Top four-year destinations include Plymouth State University, UNH College of Professional Studies, Southern NH University, and the University of NH; top choices of major include Education, Information Technology, and Psychology. 91³Ô¹ÏÍø students who transfer to other two-year colleges often go to another CCSNH institution to study programs not available at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, such as Dental Hygiene, Mechanical Engineering, Radiology, and Electrical Systems Installation & Maintenance.

Overview

This Associate in Arts degree in Liberal Arts offers the equivalent of the first two years of a four-year Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science program. Working with an advisor, students select Liberal Arts courses based on personal interest, professional aspirations, and the requirements of the four-year college or university to which they plan to transfer. For those planning to transfer, students should identify potential colleges and universities as early as possible and discuss a transfer plan with their advisor. This associate degree provides a foundation for the skills and abilities relevant to all career tracks and life pursuits, preparing students for the demands of a rapidly changing world.

Students may begin this degree in the fall, spring, or summer semester.
